Australia–Ireland relations
Australian–Irish relations are foreign relations between Australia and Ireland. Australia has an embassy in Dublin. Ireland has an embassy in Canberra, a Consulate General in Sydney and an honorary consulate in Victoria, and both nations are former British colonies.
History
About 20% of the Australian population have Irish ancestry, which often predates Irish Independence in 1922.
